WA Primary Industries Training Council

The Western Australian Primary Industries Training Council (WAPITC) is an autonomous industry based body comprised of representatives from employers, employees, Registered Training Organisations (RTO′s) and employer organisations and other interested parties in the rural production, horticultural, forest & forest products, seafood, conservation and land management and animal care and management areas.

The WAPITC provides a forum where leading individuals and organisations can address vocational education and training issues concerning the primary industries. This can be achieved through extensive consultation with industry. Industry input to the WAPITC is the basis of advice to the government and training deliverers.

Training providers have considerable input into the WAPITC in an advisory capacity. These include TAFE and private sector, Registered Training Organisations (RTO′s) together with the agricultural colleges and schools.

Each of the industry sectors contributes to the development and implementation of the appropriate training strategies for their sector. The overall business of the council is brought together in the Committee of Management where all Divisions have equal representation.
